The centrifugal oil filter has a rotor sleeved on a shaft and two nozzles with opposite injection directions. When the oil enters the rotor and comes out from the nozzle, the rotor rotates rapidly to clean the oil in the rotor. The impurities in the oil are centrifugally thrown onto the inner wall of the rotor, and the oil from the nozzle flows back to the oil pan. The centrifugal oil filter is characterized by stable performance. There is no need to replace the filter element. As long as the rotor is removed regularly, the dirt deposited on the rotor wall can be cleaned and reused. Its service life can be equal to that of the engine. Its disadvantages are complex structure, high price, bulky, etc., and high technical requirements for users.
Full-flow oil filter, such as the replaceable type, spin-on type and split centrifugal type mentioned above, filters all oil entering the system. The shunt filter only filters 5% - 10% of the oil supplied by the oil pump. The split oil filter is a fine filter, which is generally combined with the full flow type. Most of the low-power engines only use full-flow filters, while most of the high-power diesel engines use full-flow plus shunt filters.
It is used to filter the harmful impurities in the oil from the oil pan and supply clean oil to the crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft, supercharger, piston ring and other movements for lubrication, cooling and cleaning, thus extending the service life of these parts. Oil filter, also known as machine filter, is located in the engine lubrication system. The upstream of the filter is the oil pump, and the downstream is the various parts in the engine that need lubrication. In order to reduce the friction resistance between the relative moving parts in the engine and reduce the wear of the parts, the oil is continuously transmitted to the friction surface of the moving parts to form a lubricating oil film for lubrication.
